Don't Call it a Comeback

Yaaaaawn.

I'm awake. I'm here. Just been busy, lazy and well, uninspired. Okay, just lazy. But clearly there are three meals in a day so I've been eating and taking pictures. Just not all good ones but I'm here. So I'm going to knock out some posts. Because even if it wasn't a good meal, I guess you should know where NOT to go. Right??
You're welcome.

101 Rivington Street

Oh trendy cool Lower East Side. Mr. Broad and I wanted to try this at one point so we went in for a late dinner with my brother and Dr. K.
Correction. It was NOT supposed to be a late dinner when we went but due to their lack of reservations.... !@#$%. Grrrrr.
But slightly overcrowded bar with lots of beer choices, okay we can wait. And then our 15 more minutes turned into 30 and then 45. And well, we were too committed to getting a table to throw in the towel.
Oh it was on.

You know how service and frustration can already impact a possibly good meal. That's where we are. We were hungry and not in a good mood.

Hand cut french fries
These were demolished before we could taste if they were good or not.

Calamari Fritters
I think they were good? Oh who can remember. Just look at the picture.

Asparagus Spears- Sesame-panko crusted asparagus spears with citrus soy dipping sauce.
Eh. Sounds better than it was.
Kinda bland.

Gus's Famous Pickles.
Let it be known that I don't like pickles. It's the vinegar thing and I'm not really a vinegar person. Same goes for olives. Or Salt and Vinegar chips (Eww). But check this out. There are ALL different kinds of pickles out there! Who knew?! Okay. Mr. Broad had a smug I told you so smile at my excitement and newfound acceptance of pickles.

Hickory Short Rib burger
Was good but kinda tasted like umm a regular burger.

Kobe beef burger with blue cheese
Brother and Mr. Broad got this one. Only a picture of one of them because Mr. Broad sent his back because it was cold. So that gives you an idea on this one...

Dr. K. got the Pork Chop. No, I mean the Chicken. Oh wait the Skate. Yes, the skate. She tried on the others but they were out of ALL of them.
Skate fish- with some broth and vegetables. And some clams I think.
I'm pretty sure Dr. K had already given up on the meal at this point.

Review:
I've heard it's good by others but I think I'll sit this one out. This place broke Brother's cardinal rule. A burger that you have to order the fries separately?! ... Blasphemy. Maybe I'd go back for the bar and some drinks... or maybe just the pickles. Eh, I'll probably pass regardless.
Rating: 4.5. Mr. Broad said 2 and I'm pretty sure Dr. K would give it in the negative numbers.

PS- This has nothing to do with Eliot Spitzer, but due to our experience it gets the obvious nickname.
