Oh Paris. Ooh la la

So I'm going on a little hiatus again. But I'm announcing it so it should be fine right?

Mr. Broad and I decided to go on a spring(ish) vacation.
Paris and San Sebastian! With some other towns in between. Because we can't just go to Paris and Versailles!

We're going for 9 days and our itinerary looks like this:

Saturday-Monday: Paris
Monday-Tuesday: Biarritz
Renting a car and driving to San Sebastian!
Driving onto the WINE REGION that specializes in La RIOJA!
More Basque food and then a flight back to Paris for the following weekend.

Some highlights:
SPAIN- Wineries and tapas.

FRANCE: More wineries and croissants. Oh and the Mona. And the Eiffel...

Similar to our Brazil trip, I'll make sure to update you all when I get back. You know you've grown up when you now book not just your hotel in advance (and not a hostel!) but all of your restaurants for dinner. Yeah. Let's just say Mr. Broad has done his homework. I've been brushing up on my French and we downloaded a France/English dictionary. We're ready.

Au revoir!

PS- Don't worry Ma, we'll be home just in time for Passover.

Peruvians and their Chicken

We met brother and Dr. K up for good ol' neighboorhood eats awhile ago.

Excuse, excuse... who cares? pictures please??

Oh Peruvian chicken. It's like pretty awesome. Roasted chicken but like so much better and spices! And whatever, I googled a recipe so you can make it. I'm pretty sure Costco should replace their rotisseries with Peruvian chicken.

(And for my DC friends, Pollo Rico is one of Mr. Broad and my favorite spots for such Peruvian chicken. Even Anthony Bourdain went there! I like to think though we discovered it first.)

But New York Peruvian chicken?

Here you go.

Murray Hill (and other various locations)

I'm not sure if this is the best Peruvian chicken in NYC but it's darn tasty. Oh and good sangria.
We went for the Matador combo. Includes: Chicken, Rice and Beans, Yuca frites, Salchipapa and Avocada Salad

Not bad for four people eh?

"The" peruvian chicken.

Traditional rice and beans

Gotta love fried plaintains or Yuca.

Salchipapa.
Yes. This is french fries and hot dogs. You know that website, this is why you're fat? Here you go. I'm pretty sure this was submitted once. Mainly because it's just a side dish.

Avocado Salad
Did someone say salad?? Thankfully.

Review:
Every now and then you need a good neighborhood eats. Something reliable. Something that you don't have to consult Zagats, Yelp, or Open table for. Something that won't set you back your food budget for the month. Or that you don't have to pop the collar for. Oh wait, we were in Murray Hill... Regardless.
Check out Pio Pio. If you're in Manhattan/Bronx/Queens they have one near you.
And for my DC readers... Pollo Rico, I'm telling you!
Rating: 7.5
